Resolutions for 2004

I've decided to abandon the "24 for 2004" format because last year I didn't do it at all because I couldn't be bothered thinking up that many. Here are the ones that matter this year...

  1. Keep in closer contact with more friends - It's easy to let friendships, especially long distance ones slip into the background when I'm too busy with the daily grind.
  2. Maintain my fitness commitment - I've been sliding back and forth a lot on the fitness regime and healthy eating. Maintenance is hard. I need to find a source of inspiration that will keep me excited about keeping fit.
  3. Write more - I can get completely caught up in the day to day life and not update this site for long periods of time. I should also do more short story writing 'cuz that was pretty fun.
  4. Find some storage/organization solutions for our complete disaster of a study - Everything we don't know what else to do with is piled in there. It makes it an unpleasant place for me to be.
  5. Get rid of unused, unneeded things that take up too much space - Anyone need a bass amp that has made 4 moves with us but hasn't been used in 9 years?
  6. Renew my inspiration for my work - I can get a little down on my job due to the physical and mental toll it takes but I must remember that I enjoy it and find it rewarding.
  7. Learn basic electrical and plumbing skills - but know my limits so I'm not involved in any serious home plumbing/electrical disasters that cost me more than if I'd called in a professional
  8. Go "tubing" on one of the local mountains - I have always wanted to do this! I loved tobogganing as a child and think it would be a blast on a mountain. We had definite plans to do it today, but I am coming down with a cold so I have wait for another time. Curses!
  9. Back off the "retail therapy" - Shopping really doesn't cure the blues. Well, it kind of does but it's irresponsible to shop for shopping's sake while we're trying to save money.
  10. Make definitive plans for travel - There are so many places I'd like to go but unless we make a plan and start a specific savings regime, I'm never going to get to any of them.
