22 Resolutions for 2002
- Maintain fitness level - I worked hard to get here and I need goals that will motivate me to make sure I stay here
- Learn to market myself - With the removal of my main sources of massage therapy income (Provincial Government and ICBC), I need to figure out how I'm going to get people to pay out of pocket for my services
- Learn basic electrical and plumbing skills - but know my limits so I'm not involved in any serious home plumbing/electrical disasters that cost me more than if I'd called in a professional
- Learn to make sushi and Thai food - mmm, raw fish and coconut curry. Food of the gods. Oh no, that's ambrosia. My mistake.
- Decrease clutter - I was so miserable living in a clutter heap in the old apartment and I don't want to feel like that here too
- Decrease stuff in general - Ask anyone. We have too much stuff.
- Return to dance classes - ballet or jazz or hip hop or something
- Find some new girlfriends to go dancing with - former dance friends are now unavailable
- Grow out my hair to its actual colour - then I can play with the colour from scratch
- Continue saving money - All of our jobs are currently in jeopardy. We need to make sure we've saved up enough to cover a few mortgage payments since I won't be earning enough at Starbucks to cover all our expenses
- Be more adventurous - New things = good
- Do more cool crafts - Perhaps I can supplement my Starbucks income building lamps. Anyone need a lamp?
- Tell people when I'm upset about stuff instead of making snide remarks - hello, healthy communication skills
- Share the housework chores more evenly - we all know how well this worked last year, but hey, I'm an optimist
- Reserve the co-op car more often and go for daytrips out of the city - change of scenery also = good
- Finish unpacking as many boxes as possible before spring - otherwise, it will be years before we're living box-free
- Get rid of, or get a storage locker for, excess boxes of stuff that currently fill our closets - does that fit under the too much stuff category? Oh well, too bad.
- Clean the cats' teeth - they have the worst breath. Yick!
- Get new glasses - these ones have been me for so long but I think their functionality is waning
- Get a new tattoo - I've been planning to do this for years yet continue to not do it.
- Get an extended medical plan - it will help pay for the new glasses. And the dentist. And massage therapy. Unfortunately, not the tattoo
- Shiny clothes, baby - Get 'em. Wear 'em. Spread the word.
