Tasty, tangy, clammy goodness
Your flavour caresses my
Tasting buds
With extra pickled beans, please
Savory mingling to excite
all senses leaving a
calm, warm glow.
Vertigogirl's Spicy Caesar
Clamato may seem like an unholy concoction (tomato juice and clam nectar) but mixed the right way, it's go-oo-od!
You will need:
- Salt
- Pepper
- Cayenne Pepper
- Lime (or lime juice)
- Vodka (best if kept in freezer)
- Clamato Juice
- Tabasco
- Worchestershire Sauce
- Ice
- Your favorite pickled vegetable - My FAVE is spicy pickled beans but I also like almond-stuffed olives or spicy mushrooms. Or, if you prefer you can use a stalk of celery (blah!).
- Tall glass
Mix 2 dashes salt, 3 grinds black pepper, 2 shakes cayenne pepper in bowl or small plate (or use Clamato Rimmer but I prefer to do it myself).
Wet rim of tall glass with sliced lime (or lime juice)
Roll rim of glass in salt mixture and put remaining mixture aside
Fill glass 1/3 way full of ice and add 1-2 ounces of vodka
Add 5 sprinkles of Tabasco and 5 shakes of Worchestershire
Squeeze a thick slice of lime into the glass or pour in a splash of lime juice
Shake in the remaining salt mixture from the first step
Fill glass with clamato juice and stir
Insert pickled veggies and head for bliss, sipping from various places around the glass to get the salt mixture flavour mixed in with the drink.
