Viva Vallarta! (Part 4)

(I promise both you and me that this is the last part)

Despite all the fabulous relaxation that we'd done we were definitely ready to come home by the time the last day rolled around. We spent the last day sitting around drinking in the lobby because we had to check out 2 hours before the busses came to pick us up. Earlier in the week while we were enjoying their all-you-can-drink policy, we discovered a fabulous drink called Chelada. It doesn't sound that yummy on description but is fabulous and extremely refreshing in the heat (we drank many of these on our last day).

Chelada

    You need:
  • Tall glass
  • 1 lime quarter
  • salt for rim of glass
  • Ice
  • 2 oz. Lime bar mix (Limeade made with 1/2 the water recommended on the can works well)
  • Beer - preferably lager or pale ale
Wet rim of glass with lime and dip in salt. Fill glass with ice. Squeeze lime quarter into glass and throw the rest in, too. Pour in 2 oz. lime bar mix and top with beer. Stir and enjoy!

As I said, it doesn't sound that great but it is so tasty. Yes, the salt is necessary. I drank one of these while typing all this stuff up this afternoon so if there are typos I missed, don't be surprised. I've been having some coordination issues.

At the duty free we were able to pick up some Kahlua ($9.50US for a litre!) and some El Jimador tequila (this is DAMN good tequila, it is really smooth!). I like the duty free! They were selling the same Lindt chocolate bars I paid about $4 for in London Drugs the other day for $1.50 but at least the Kahlua is cheap.

The plane ride back was also a disaster. Theovis happened to be sitting in a seat that got hit with condensation dripping from the ceiling as the heat from outside hit the air conditioning. For the first 10 minutes after take off, he was doused with this disgusting orange ick dripping from the ceiling. When he went to talk to the flight attendant after we leveled off, she said "It's just condensation, it won't stain." Another fabulous example of Air Transat quality customer service. You could see that everyone sitting in the seats in the same position relative to a ceiling panel were getting hit by the goo and the flight folks just didn't care at all. I know the seats are cheap, but you'd think you could be NOT dripped on while you fly.

The meal (which was veggy this time) was fabulous, though. I know. Who'd have believed it? Perhaps we were just so thrilled to have something different but it seemed so tasty. Both of us shoveled it back in record time. They did forget my salad dressing though, and I had to get the dregs of Theovis's. There was no klaxon on the landing and other than them telling us the wrong luggage carosel number, it was smooth sailing from there. That is, until we got home and discovered the break in.
